The new host and licensee will be Karon Whitt, who has been a trade professional for many years. Karon grew up and lived in the surrounding area and she is keen to make a positive impact with the local community.
CJ’s has a plan to not only renovate the pub, but also to make it compliment the local community and other public houses of Gotham.
At the end of May, CJ’s has arranged for The Star to be refurbished to the tune of £30,000, capitalising on its large beer garden and strengthening the quality of the internal surroundings.
“More importantly for me personally, I am pleased to say as part of the refurbishment the exterior of the building will be completely revamped and painted to complement the residents houses surrounding it.” says Karon.
“From a trade point of view I intend for The Star to be a true community pub, offering a wide selection of real ales, home cooked food, entertainment, social events, team sports and more.”
As a company CJ’s brings to The Star a wealth of trade experience, with experience of developing 14 other pubs ranging from destination inns, fine dining, community locals, to high street bars.
The Star will re-open at 5pm on Wednesday 1st May and will be open all day, everyday.
